Noorcare Health & Maternity Project — Bringing Safe,Respectful Care to Women
Despite improvements, maternal health remains a major challenge in Pakistan. The maternal mortality ratio (MMR) has decreased over past decades — from 276 deaths per 100,000 live births to roughly 186 per 100,000 live births in recent years.
Yet in many regions, quality maternal and newborn care remain limited, especially for underprivileged women in rural or low-income communities.

Moreover: while some C‑sections (caesarean deliveries) are medically necessary and life-saving, there is growing concern over overuse of C‑sections in Pakistan — particularly in private hospitals, where economic incentives may drive unnecessary surgical deliveries.
According to recent data, deliveries by C‑section in Pakistan have risen. As of 2019, about 23.1% of births nationwide happened via C‑section.
In some hospitals and regions, C‑section rates have been reported as high as 50–70%, far above the 10–15% range often considered medically justifiable when population-wide.
These facts show that many women lack access to safe, respectful, affordable maternal care — and many face unnecessary risks from excessive surgical deliveries.
With our new Health & Maternity Project, Noorcare aims to establish a maternity home to offer affordable, world‑class care for expectant mothers — especially for women who cannot afford expensive private hospital fees or who otherwise lack access to reliable obstetric services.
What Noorcare Intends to Do: Maternity Home & High‑Quality Maternal Care
Our objectives:
Provide safe, hygienic, and respectful prenatal, delivery, and postnatal care.
Promote and support natural/vaginal births whenever medically appropriate — not defaulting to C‑section for convenience or profit.
Ensure that C‑sections are performed only when medically necessary, with transparent justification and informed consent.
Offer maternal health care to economically disadvantaged women, removing cost barriers to quality childbirth services.
Provide pre‑ and postnatal counselling, nutritional support, and follow-up care to ensure maternal and newborn well‑being.
Build a compassionate, caring environment — with trained staff dedicated to the physical and emotional dignity of each woman and newborn.
Our Vision
- Healthy Mothers, Healthy Futures
We envision a maternity home where every woman — regardless of her financial status — can receive safe, dignified childbirth care. With this project, Noorcare hopes to reduce unnecessary surgical deliveries (C‑sections), lower maternal and newborn complications, and raise standards of motherhood support in underprivileged communities.
With quality care, transparent practices, and an ethical approach, we aim to set new benchmarks of maternal health support in Pakistan.
